Outreach Opportunities
Holy Trinity Church is proud of our Coat Closet which collects and distributes coats to anyone in the community in need from infant to adult at no cost. We work to combine the resources of the church, local businesses, and concerned individuals to keep our “closet” full. Our collecting continues throughout the year and is open Saturdays 10AM-noon in cold weather through mid-December.
We assist Habitat for Humanity with interfaith fundraising efforts and by supplying a work team for construction of housing for families in need in Boone County. One parishioner, a retired architect, assists with architectural drawings of housing.
Our efforts on behalf of the Boone County Homeless Project include collecting hygiene products and serving on the board of directors. This is a new organization which is studying the causes of and solutions to homeless for the first time in our geographic area.
We deliver Meals on Wheels, hot meals to the community shut-ins, through the local Boone County Council on Aging, for a week, four times a year.
Parishioners care for our historic buildings and beautiful grounds by volunteering every spring and fall in indoor and outdoor work days. Children, teens and adults all serve together to enhance our environment, while enjoying the fellowship of working side by side. Volunteers mow the lawn in the summer and perform snow removal in the winter.
